Dearborn Logo Design

Every new Dearborn company knows they require a logo, however few new business owners fully understand the crucial role their logo can play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one business logo works better than another. A company logo has an instant and long-term impact on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Dearborn businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Dearborn coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an old part of the town and really wanted to visualize a retro feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs by designing a business logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide as well as germs created for Dearborn clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a jumping green frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Dearborn.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - designed for Dearborn traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they often convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Dearborn logo design but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Dearborn logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo realize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo job has it’s share of challenges, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Dearborn publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a published book because it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many cases one of the aspects folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Dearborn logo style made use of for advertising and a label layout for Vintage Instance includes an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Dearborn, design include an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it seems that almost every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which projected a feeling of contentment and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious route of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is in most cases the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo layout developed for a horse cattle ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a one-of-a-kind business logo design tailored to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. By having a different head shape and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most easily identifiable equine types in the whole world.

Las Coffee shop logo layout a small dining establishment, style contains a changed script font style which hovers over a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software program programmer the design features and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell off their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Dearborn logo dsign utilizing an image that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t actually created for an Dearborn area farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this particular logo was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to design a image that projected self-assurance, success, and affluence.
Logo made for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is similar to a popular sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to create a logo design that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
