Flint Logo Design

Each and every new Flint organization knows they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully are aware of the vital role their logo can take in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design works far better than another. A logo has an immediate and long-term impact on the prosperity of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Flint businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Flint coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old section of the city and hoped to cast a retro tone without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by designing a logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria made for Flint clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which works with the laboratory examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun facility in Flint.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Flint traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they often share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Flint logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Flint logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo comprehend how essential a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Flint book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a printed book since it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems that in many cases one of the traits consumers usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Flint logo style used for advertising as well as a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Flint, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that every single dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo which carried a spirit of tranquility and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious course of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead designed a company logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is oftentimes the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software application designer the design attributes and also iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Progress logo style created for a Flint interior developer, layout attribute a series of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Flint logo design project was undertaken for a leadership expert that enables business leaders to become more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Flint logo design dsign using an image which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually produced for an Flint regional farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this particular business logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to make a brand mark that projects assurance, financial success, and affluence.
Logo made for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is similar to a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
