Garden City Logo Design

Virtually every new Garden City venture understands that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully understand the vital role their organization logo will perform in their financial success, or precisely why one logo design functions far better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Garden City businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Garden City coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an old part of town and wanted to project a retro vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks by means of creating a logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Garden City clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recollect where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping green frog designed for a family enjoyable facility in Garden City.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Garden City traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Garden City logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Garden City logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get neutral assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo recognize how essential a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of challenges, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Garden City book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems that in many cases one of the things consumers tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a spirit of air travel and it was certainly a victory.

Garden City logo style used for advertising and marketing and also a label design for Vintage Instance features an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Garden City, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it seems that almost every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that conveyed a sense of simplicity and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead designed a business logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style developed for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software developer the design features as well as renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Garden City business logo dsign with an illustration that seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Garden City regional farm it was in reality designed for a products broker, and this particular company was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to create an identity that projected self-confidence, success, and luxury.
Logo design made for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is similar to a famous sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to design a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
