Jenison Logo Design

Virtually every new Jenison organization realizes that they require a logo, yet few new business owners entirely comprehend the vital role their business logo can perform in their success, or the reason that one logo design functions far better than another. A logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the success of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Jenison companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand consideration, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Jenison coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an old part of the area and wished to visualize an old-fashioned tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by means of designing a logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria made for Jenison medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping green frog developed for a family members enjoyable center in Jenison.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Jenison traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead project emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Jenison logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Jenison logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their business logo understand how important a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s allotment of hurdles, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Jenison book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most necessary part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it looks like that in many instances one of the traits people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Jenison logo design made use of for advertising as well as a label design for Vintage Case features an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Jenison, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it appears that each and every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that communicated a spirit of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious course of making simply a stylized orchid but rather created a logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is more often than not the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the attention on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application programmer the layout features and also famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

Evolve logo style developed for a Jenison interior designer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect and also replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell off their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Jenison business logo dsign with an image which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Jenison area farm it was actually developed for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to design an identity that projected esteem, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo design created for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the owner to design a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
