TIPS ON CHOOSING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design company presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they can not reimburse the time you commit which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be determined from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t feature actual samples odds are they will never be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and remembered, and it’s purpose is to reflect your unique vision for your business. If a designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Jenison LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners establish notable brands. We’ve performed branding work for farmers, colleges, heart surgeons, wedding singers, restaurants, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes us unique compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every logo design project as if it will be employed as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first method our identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first approach insures that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or website headers, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and remembered regardless of scale or function.

American Made ★ Design

Something that truly sets ImageCo apart from other design companies that you might have stumbled upon on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are contracted to perform, we perform ourselves. Regardless of the kind of project we accept, brand identity design, web page, trade show exhibition, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s projects to companies based outside the USA. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the cost of your project and dictates the terms of how my customers and I do business.

QUALITIES OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Every new Jenison organization realizes that they probably need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly realize the key role their company logo can make in their success, or precisely why one logo design functions better than another. A business logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Jenison companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the act of denoting something to make sure that it could be distinguished, its origin comes from the brand branded onto animals. Today a brand signifies pretty much anything with an intention, whether it be earnings or political parties, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the worth of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive cousin, they are all from the same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition directed at a specific audience, it’s goal is to produce a mental image that the target market will likely identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When a person says the names Porsche or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes people purchase those products. Brand image is why people acquire specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the origin of the majority of branding agencies you’ll discover that they are frequently re-branded marketing and advertising companies. When someone says they are in advertising most individuals will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that specializes in a kind of visual design that helps shape the perception of a company, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, packaging, as well as collateral products such as cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some visual designers also build web sites and also software interfaces. The important role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of influencing actions, results and perceptions.

select signs/logos

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Jenison coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an old part of the area and really wanted to project an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by means of designing a symbol design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and germs developed for Jenison medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the clinical assessment of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping green frog created for a family members fun center in Jenison.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - created for Jenison travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather project emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Jenison logo but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Jenison logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their business logo comprehend how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of hurdles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Jenison book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most essential part of a published book given that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the book shop. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Jenison logo style made use of for advertising and a tag style for Vintage Case features an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Jenison, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it seems that almost every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design produced for a Jenison hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that related a sense of calmness and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but instead created a logo design that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is more often than not the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the main focus on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style developed for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a distinct custom logo design customized to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. By having a different head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable equine lineages in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Jenison Coffee shop logo style a tiny restaurant, layout includes a changed script font which hovers above a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a small dining establishment, layout consists of a changed manuscript font which hovers over a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software designer the layout features and famous Jenison element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Progress logo style created for a Jenisoninterior developer, design attribute a collection of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Jenison interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who prepares, researches, coordinates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that includes conceptual development, area planning, site inspections, programming, study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Jenison, the personalities for letter V and also A in middle of the word advanced have actually been modified to connect straight right into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Jenison logo design job was completed for a management guide that enables business professionals to develop into more effective at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Jenison business logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to market their used items to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Jenison logo design with an illustration which grabs the attention of traffic and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Jenison company logo layout has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually created for an Jenison regional farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this particular company was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to design a graphic that projected esteem, financial success, and prosperity.

Jenison Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for outwardly encountering arrow and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the first try.

Logo design created for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is similar to a renowned Jenison sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to create a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
