Monroe, Michigan Logo Design

Nearly every new Monroe business understands that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely recognize the pivotal role their organization logo will take in their financial success, or exactly why one business logo performs far better than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting effect on the success of a business, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Monroe, Michigan businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Monroe, Michigan coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an old part of the city and hoped to visualize a retro tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks via designing a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria made for Monroe, Michigan clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable center in Monroe, Michigan.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Monroe, Michigan travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Monroe logo design but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Monroe logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo understand how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Monroe, Michigan book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, however it is the most important part of a printed book since it is usually the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many instances one of the aspects people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was definitely a winner.

Monroe logo layout made use of for advertising as well as a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Monroe, Michigan, style include an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects because it seems that almost every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really really love doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which conveyed an atmosphere of contentment and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is in most cases the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the emphasis on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo style for a software designer the style attributes and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Monroe business logo dsign with an image that garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually produced for an Monroe, Michigan regional farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to create an identity that projected assurance, effectiveness, and opulence.

Monroe Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design feature for outwardly dealing with arrowhead as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the flexibility to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo developed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
