STRATEGIES FOR SELECTING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t refund the time you invest which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but inevitably a design firm can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio does not contain real world samples odds are they will not be able to produce a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and remembered, and it’s purpose is to reflect your unique vision for your business. If a logo designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Mount Pleasant LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs develop unforgettable brand identities. We have performed brand design work for ranchers, colleges, diamond miners, wedding singers, bistros, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business you can envision. What makes us different compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every brand identity project as if it will be employed as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first approach our logo designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to electrical signs. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logo designs are equally reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or web applications, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and remembered no matter of size or function.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which really sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you might possibly have stumbled upon in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are hired to do, we do in-house. Regardless of the type of design project we undertake, logo design, web page, trade show display, or retail sign, we do not, and never will job out our customer’s work to organizations based outside the US. When you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that increases the price of your design project and dictates the terms of how you and I do business.

QUALITIES OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Every new Mount Pleasant entrepreneur understands that they probably need a logo, yet few start-ups entirely understand the pivotal role their logo design can play in their success, or the reason that one logo performs far better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the financial success of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Mount Pleasant businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not need deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to posters a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s both a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the act of denoting something so that it could be distinguished, its genesis originates from the brand branded onto animals. These days a brand symbolizes pretty much anything with a motive, regardless of whether it be profit or politics, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are each from the exact same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition directed at a target audience, it’s goal is to produce a mental image that the target market will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody says the names Lamborghini or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals want those brands. Brand image is why people buy most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the beginning of most branding firms you’ll find that they are frequently rebranded advertising companies. When somebody claims they are in advertising and marketing lots of people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or listened to are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a type of visual design that helps shape the image of a company, a product or a company. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and also collateral material such as cards, stationery, and also sales brochures. Some identity designers also design sites and also user interfaces. The vital function of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the goal of influencing actions, outcomes as well as understandings.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Mount Pleasant coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an older section of the town and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs via designing a symbol design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs created for Mount Pleasant medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable facility in Mount Pleasant.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Mount Pleasant travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Mount Pleasant logo design but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Mount Pleasant logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo understand how important a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Mount Pleasant book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a published book because it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems like that in many occurrences one of the items consumers often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Mount Pleasant logo layout utilized for marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Case features an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Mount Pleasant, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it appears that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a Mount Pleasant hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that conveyed a feeling of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious direction of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style developed for a steed cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed an original brand design fashioned to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. By having an identifiable head form and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most easily recognizable equine types in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Mount Pleasant Coffee shop logo design a little restaurant, layout consists of a customized script typeface which hovers over a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a little restaurant, design consists of a changed script font style which floats over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software application designer the layout functions as well as iconic Mount Pleasant element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Develop logo style produced for a Mount Pleasantinterior designer, design function a series of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Mount Pleasant interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is someone who organizes, explores, coordinates, and manages such ventures. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that consists of conceptual development, area planning, location assessments, programming, study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Mount Pleasant, the characters for letter V as well as A in center of the word progressed have been changed to tie directly right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Mount Pleasant logo design project was undertaken for a management guide that assists business leaders to develop into more successful at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Mount Pleasant business logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell off their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Mount Pleasant logo design design using an illustration which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Mount Pleasant company logo layout has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t actually composed for an Mount Pleasant area farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this particular logo design was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to produce a graphic that projects trust, financial success, and luxury.

Mount Pleasant Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for ostensibly encountering arrow and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo created for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a popular Mount Pleasant sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to design a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
