Mount Pleasant, Michigan Logo Design

Nearly every new Mount Pleasant company understands that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly comprehend the pivotal role their company logo can make in their success, or the reason that one business logo works more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and long term effect on the success of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Mount Pleasant, Michigan companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Mount Pleasant, Michigan coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an older part of the city and really wanted to visualize a vintage feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by creating a custom logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Mount Pleasant, Michigan medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a leaping green frog created for a family members enjoyable facility in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - designed for Mount Pleasant, Michigan travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Mount Pleasant logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Mount Pleasant logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective point of views on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of challenges, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Mount Pleasant, Michigan publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a printed book since it is often the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it looks like that in many cases 1 of the traits folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of air travel and it was certainly a victory.

Mount Pleasant logo style made use of for advertising and a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects because it appears that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that communicated an atmosphere of relaxation and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather created a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo layout for a software program designer the layout functions as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Mount Pleasant logo dsign using an illustration which seizes the interest of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Mount Pleasant Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout feature for outwardly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the liberty to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design designed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is similar to a popular sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
