Muskegon Logo Design

Virtually every new Muskegon business understands that they need a logo, but few new business owners fully are aware of the vital role their business logo can perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo works more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining impact on the success of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Muskegon businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Muskegon coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older part of the community and really wanted to project an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks via developing a trademark design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs made for Muskegon clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a family members fun facility in Muskegon.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Muskegon traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Muskegon logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Muskegon logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get honest opinions on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo comprehend how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of challenges, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Muskegon book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a published book given that it is often the very first thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many cases 1 of the items individuals usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was definitely a winner.

Muskegon logo layout used for advertising as well as a label style for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Muskegon, design consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that communicated a spirit of tranquility and class for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious course of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo design for a software program programmer the design attributes as well as iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a company logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Muskegon logo dsign using an illustration that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t really composed for an Muskegon area farm it was really developed for an investments broker, and this logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to make a brand mark that projected self-assurance, financial success, and opulence.
Logo design created for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is similar to a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to develop a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
