Rochester Hills, Michigan Logo Design

Every new Rochester Hills business knows they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely recognize the essential role their logo will make in their financial success, or the reason that one logo performs better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long term influence on the growth of a business, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Rochester Hills, Michigan companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Rochester Hills, Michigan coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually launching in an older section of the city and wished to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by developing a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs created for Rochester Hills, Michigan medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a household fun center in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Rochester Hills, Michigan travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather project emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Rochester Hills logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Rochester Hills logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design understand how important a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Rochester Hills, Michigan publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most crucial part of a published book since it is often the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it looks like that in many cases one of the traits individuals often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Rochester Hills logo design used for advertising and marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Rochester Hills, Michigan, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it appears that almost every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which projected a spirit of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is oftentimes the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo style for a software application programmer the style features and legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Rochester Hills logo dsign along with an image that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually designed for an Rochester Hills, Michigan regional farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this company was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to develop a brand mark that projects self-assurance, success, and affluence.

Rochester Hills Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout function for outwardly encountering arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the flexibility to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design designed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is evocative a well-known sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the business owner to produce a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
