Troy, Michigan Logo Design

Each and every new Troy business understands that they need a logo, however few new business owners entirely realize the pivotal role their logo can take in their success, or exactly why one logo design performs better than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting influence on the prosperity of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Troy, Michigan companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Troy, Michigan coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an older section of the area and really wanted to project a retro atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by designing a trademark concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria made for Troy, Michigan clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory assessment of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family fun facility in Troy, Michigan.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Troy, Michigan travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Troy logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Troy logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest viewpoints on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo recognize how important a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of obstacles, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Troy, Michigan book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a published book because it is often the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many instances 1 of the aspects consumers tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was certainly a victory.

Troy logo layout used for advertising and a label design for Vintage Case includes an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Troy, Michigan, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually enjoy doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that carried a spirit of ease and class for their new hair studio. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the focus on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo design created for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo style a small dining establishment, design includes a changed script font which hovers over a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little restaurant, layout consists of a customized manuscript font style which floats over a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software program developer the style attributes and famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Troy business logo dsign with an illustration which captures the interest of vehicles and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Troy, Michigan area farm it was actually devised for a commodities broker, and this logo was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to design a graphic that projected esteem, effectiveness, and affluence.

Troy Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style function for ostensibly encountering arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo made for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is evocative a popular sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the owner to develop a logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
