Westland, Michigan Logo Design

Each and every new Westland venture understands that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely understand the essential role their business logo can make in their becoming successful, or why one logo design performs far better than another. A business logo has a critical and long-term impact on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a business.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Westland, Michigan companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand scrutiny, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Westland, Michigan coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an older part of town and wished to cast an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by creating a company logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Westland, Michigan clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a household fun center in Westland, Michigan.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Westland, Michigan traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the images they record. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Westland logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Westland logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get honest opinions on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s portion of obstacles, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Westland, Michigan book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most crucial part of a printed book due to the fact that it is usually the primary thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the things individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to confering a spirit of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Westland logo design made use of for advertising and a tag layout for Vintage Case features an archaic font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Westland, Michigan, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo projects because it seems that every single dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that related a spirit of tranquility and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian equine logo design created for a steed ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a unique logotype design customized to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With a different head form and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most easily recognizable horse types in the whole world.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a small dining establishment, layout contains a customized script typeface which floats above a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software designer the style attributes and iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

Evolve logo layout created for a Westland, Michigan indoor developer, design function a collection of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

A logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Westland logo design dsign using a graphic which pulls in the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t really composed for an Westland, Michigan area farm it was really created for a products broker, and this particular creative logo was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to develop a brand mark that projected confidence, financial success, and prosperity.

Westland Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for ostensibly facing arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I hit a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo design designed for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is evocative a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
