Minnesota Logo Design

Nearly every new Minnesota business realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners entirely are aware of the vital role their business logo can perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design performs far better than another. A logo has an instant and lasting impact on the growth of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Minnesota businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Minnesota coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an old section of the area and wished to cast an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by designing a business logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and germs designed for Minnesota clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design Project

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical assessment of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Minnesota.

Cool Springs | Retail Branding Project

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - created for Minnesota travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they often share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Minnesota logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Minnesota logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design Project

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design comprehend how vital a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of obstacles, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Minnesota book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design Project

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most critical part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books. This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design Project

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many cases one of the traits folks often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a good sense of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Minnesota logo design utilized for marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design Project

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this business logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Minnesota, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design Project

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects because it appears that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession. I actually enjoy doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on. Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.
William McNally logo design made for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design Project

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project. The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be understood.
Logo design developed for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo that carried a sense of peace and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of making simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to project to their patrons.
Arabian steed logo layout produced for a steed cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design Project

ImageCo developed an original logo concept fashioned to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. By having a different head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately recognizable horse lineages in the world.
Las Cafe logo design a small dining establishment, design consists of a modified script typeface which floats over a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design Project

Las Coffee shop logo style a small dining establishment, design includes a modified manuscript typeface which hovers over a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software program programmer the design functions and iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design Project

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Evolve logo style produced for a Minnesota interior developer, design attribute a series of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the characters for letter V as well as A in center of words advanced have been modified to tie directly right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Minnesota logo design project was performed for a management expert that enables business leaders to become more successful at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.
A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Minnesota business logo design utilizing a graphic which pulls in the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Minnesota area farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to produce a brand mark that projected confidence, effectiveness, and opulence.

Minnesota Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout feature for outwardly encountering arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Luckily, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo made for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is similar to a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to create a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
