Blaine Logo Design

Nearly every new Blaine venture realizes that they need a logo, yet few new business owners entirely realize the vital role their organization logo will play in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo works far better than another. A company logo has an immediate and sustaining impact on the growth of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Blaine businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Blaine coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an older part of the city and wanted to project a retro feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved the two tasks via developing a symbol concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs made for Blaine clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Blaine.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Blaine travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Blaine logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Blaine logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial assessments on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design comprehend how important a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, however the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Blaine book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, however it is the most vital part of a published book because it is often the first thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it looks like that in many cases one of the traits people usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a victory.

Blaine logo design made use of for marketing and a tag style for Vintage Instance includes an archaic font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Blaine, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs considering that it appears that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that conveyed an atmosphere of contentment and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is in most cases the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout functions as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

Evolve logo style developed for a Blaine interior designer, layout feature a series of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell off their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Blaine business logo dsign with an illustration that grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually produced for an Blaine area farm it was really created for a products broker, and this company was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to create a brand mark that projected assurance, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo designed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the business owner to produce a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
