Blaine, Minnesota Logo Design

Each and every new Blaine business person understands that they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners fully understand the pivotal role their business logo can take in their success, or the reason that one logo works more effectively than another. A logo has an instant and long-term influence on the growth of a business, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Blaine, Minnesota businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require consideration, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to movie screens a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be lasting and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Blaine, Minnesota coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of the community and wanted to project an old-fashioned tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by creating a logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs designed for Blaine, Minnesota clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable facility in Blaine, Minnesota.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Blaine, Minnesota travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Blaine logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Blaine logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo realize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Blaine, Minnesota publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a printed book considering that it is often the first thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems like that in many instances 1 of the traits consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Blaine logo layout utilized for advertising and a label style for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Blaine, Minnesota, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that each and every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which communicated a feeling of ease and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo design that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is oftentimes the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo style for a software program designer the design features as well as legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

logo layout done for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of words advanced have actually been changed to tie straight into words below.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell off their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Blaine logo design dsign with an image that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t really composed for an Blaine, Minnesota area farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this creative logo was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to produce a brand mark that projects self-assurance, success, and wealth.

Blaine Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design feature for externally facing arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the liberty to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo design designed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to design a logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
