POINTERS FOR PICKING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design company presents a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not refund the amount of time you invest which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but in the end a design agency can only be judged by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t feature real life examples odds are they won’t be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to echo your unique vision for your organization. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Blaine LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs grow unforgettable brand identities. We’ve performed brand design work for builders, universities, heart surgeons, party planners, bistros, retailers, and virtually every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes ImageCo different compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as if it will be utilized as an electric sign. Because of our sign first method our logo designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to electrical signs. Our sign first method guarantees that our logo designs are just as successful whether they are used in TV commercials or website apps, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and remembered no matter of scale or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that truly sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you might have stumbled upon in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are hired to do, we perform in-house. Irrespective of the type of project we take on, business logo, business website, trade show exhibition, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will contract out our customer’s work to companies based outside the USA. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the price of your project and imposes the conditions of how we conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Blaine organization realizes that they need a logo, yet few start ups thoroughly grasp the pivotal role their organization’s logo can play in their success, or exactly why one business logo works more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and long-term impact on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Blaine companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not need consideration, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to store signs a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the item or company they brand.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be ageless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb as well as a noun, it is an identifying mark and the act of noting something to make sure that it could be distinguished, its foundation comes from the brand burned onto livestock. These days a brand symbolizes virtually anything with an objective, whether it be profit or government agencies, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of specifying the worth of a specific thing in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are both from the exact same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest aimed at a target audience, it’s goal is to develop an image that the audience will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When someone mentions the names Ferrari or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why individuals identify with specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the beginning of most branding companies you’ll discover that they are frequently re-branded marketing companies. When somebody claims they are in advertising and marketing most people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that concentrates on a type of visual design which helps shape the perception of a business, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers create logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as business cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some visual designers also develop websites and user interfaces. The necessary duty of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, outcomes and perceptions.

Featured logos & signs

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Blaine coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were opening up in an older section of the community and wanted to project an old-fashioned tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both jobs via creating a symbol concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs developed for Blaine clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical assessment of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a household fun facility in Blaine.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Blaine traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Blaine logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Blaine logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get honest judgements on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo realize how essential a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of challenges, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Blaine publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a published book since it is ordinarily the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many occurrences one of the traits people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was surely a success.

Blaine logo style used for marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Blaine, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it appears that every single dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters startled in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design produced for a Blaine hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that communicated an atmosphere of ease and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious course of crafting merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian steed logo design produced for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind logo concept fashioned to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. By having a distinctive head form and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most easily identifiable equine types in the world.

Las Cafe, A Blaine Coffee shop logo style a little dining establishment, style contains a customized script typeface which hovers over a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little dining establishment, layout contains a modified manuscript font which floats above a team of ornate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software application developer the design functions as well as famous Blaine aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Advance logo style produced for a Blaineinterior developer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that converge and change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Blaine interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who arranges, researches, coordinates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, location inspections, programming, analysis, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Blaine, the characters for letter V and A in center of words progressed have actually been changed to connect straight right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Blaine logo design assignment was completed for a leadership guide that helps business professionals to develop into more efficient at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Blaine business logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Blaine business logo design utilizing an image that pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Blaine company logo style has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Blaine regional farm it was really devised for a products broker, and this company logo was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to develop a graphic that projected trust, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Blaine Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for outwardly encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo designed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is similar to a well-known Blaine sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
