Champlin Logo Design

Each and every new Champlin venture knows they require a logo, but few new business owners entirely grasp the key role their logo can perform in their success, or the reason that one business logo works more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and long-term impact on the success of a business, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Champlin companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Champlin coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an old part of the town and really wanted to cast a nostalgic tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs via creating a business logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also germs developed for Champlin medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members enjoyable facility in Champlin.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - designed for Champlin traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Champlin logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Champlin logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo understand how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of obstacles, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Champlin book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a printed book since it is often the very first thing a person views in the book shop. For a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems that in many instances one of the items people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Champlin logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing and also a label design for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Champlin, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that almost every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that related a spirit of contentment and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a business logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is oftentimes the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo layout for a software program designer the design functions as well as legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to market their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Champlin logo design dsign with a graphic which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Champlin area farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this business logo was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to create an identity that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo developed for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a popular sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the owner to develop a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
