Coon Rapids, Minnesota Logo Design

Each and every new Coon Rapids venture realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the pivotal role their organization logo can perform in their financial success, or why one business logo works more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and long term influence on the financial success of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Coon Rapids, Minnesota businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Coon Rapids, Minnesota coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of the community and hoped to visualize a vintage vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by developing a company logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria developed for Coon Rapids, Minnesota clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family members enjoyable center in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Coon Rapids, Minnesota travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Coon Rapids logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Coon Rapids logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get objective judgements on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design realize how vital a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of obstacles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Coon Rapids, Minnesota publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, however it really is the most important part of a published book because it is usually the first thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems like that in many cases one of the traits individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Coon Rapids logo layout used for advertising and also a tag style for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs considering that it seems that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that communicated a feeling of tranquility and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious path of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is generally the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software application designer the style functions as well as famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Coon Rapids logo dsign along with an image which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t actually composed for an Coon Rapids, Minnesota area farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to make a image that projected confidence, effectiveness, and luxury.

Coon Rapids Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style function for ostensibly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo design designed for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is similar to a well-known sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
