POINTERS FOR PICKING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t reimburse the time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but inevitably a design firm can only be determined from the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t feature real life samples chances are they will never be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s objective is to mirror your personal vision for your business. If a logo designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Cottage Grove LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs establish memorable brand identities. We’ve performed brand design work for ranchers, schools, diamond miners, wedding singers, bistros, retailers, and practically every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes us unique compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every brand identity project as though it will be utilized as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first method our designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first method ensures that our logos are just as successful whether they are used in TV commercials or web apps, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and remembered no matter of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you may have encountered on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are contracted to do, we do ourselves. Regardless of the kind of project we undertake, business logo, website design, trade show exhibit, or electric sign, we do not, and never will farm out our client’s projects to agencies based outside the USA. When you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that increases the price of your design project and imposes the conditions of how my customers and I conduct business.

QUALITIES OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Every new Cottage Grove organization realizes that they require a logo, yet few start ups thoroughly comprehend the crucial role their logo design can play in their financial success, or precisely why one logo functions better than another. A logo design has an instant and long-term influence on the financial success of a business, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Cottage Grove companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not need scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be timeless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s both a verb and also a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the process of noting something to ensure that it could be distinguished, its foundation originates from the brand burned onto livestock. These days a brand symbolizes basically anything with an intention, regardless if it be revenue or politics, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s sexy sister, they are both from the exact same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition directed at a target audience, it’s objective is to develop an image that the target market can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When a person mentions the brand names Ferrari or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people want those products. Brand image is why people purchase most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the origin of most branding firms you’ll discover that they are often re-branded advertising and marketing firms. When someone claims they are in advertising and marketing most people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that specializes in a kind of visual design that helps form the perception of a business, a product or a company. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, packaging, as well as collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and pamphlets. Some visual designers also develop websites as well as user interfaces. The vital function of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and a psychological tone with the goal of affecting actions, results and also assumptions.

Featured logos & signs

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Cottage Grove coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an old part of town and wished to cast a retro tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by creating a trademark design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and germs created for Cottage Grove clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and much more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping green frog developed for a household enjoyable facility in Cottage Grove.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Cottage Grove travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Cottage Grove logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Cottage Grove logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how important a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of challenges, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Cottage Grove publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most critical part of a published book since it is in most cases the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems that in many occurrences one of the things consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was definitely a victory.

Cottage Grove logo style used for marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this business logo design I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Cottage Grove, layout include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a Cottage Grove hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which communicated a feeling of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious course of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a business logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is more often than not the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the focus on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo design created for an equine ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind company logo design tailored to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. By having an unique head shape and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most immediately recognizable horse breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Cottage Grove Coffee shop logo layout a little dining establishment, style includes a customized manuscript font style which floats above a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a small restaurant, style consists of a changed script font style which hovers over a group of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software programmer the design features as well as legendary Cottage Grove element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

Advance logo design developed for a Cottage Groveindoor developer, design function a collection of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Cottage Grove interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who prepares, researches, collaborates, and manages such ventures. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that involves conceptual development, space planning, location examinations, programming, study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Cottage Grove, the characters for letter V as well as A in center of the word progressed have been changed to link straight right into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Cottage Grove logo design assignment was done for a management specialist that assists business leaders to become more successful at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Cottage Grove business logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Cottage Grove logo design design along with an image that captures the interest of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this Cottage Grove company logo style has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t really designed for an Cottage Grove area farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to create a brand mark that projected esteem, financial success, and luxury.

Cottage Grove Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design function for externally encountering arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo design developed for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is reminiscent of a well-known Cottage Grove sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
