Eagan, Minnesota Logo Design

Virtually every new Eagan company understands that they need a logo, but few new business owners fully recognize the pivotal role their company logo will make in their success, or precisely why one business logo functions better than another. A logo design has an immediate and lasting impact on the prosperity of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Eagan, Minnesota companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be ageless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Eagan, Minnesota coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an older section of the city and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by developing a company logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs developed for Eagan, Minnesota clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the clinical assessment of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping green frog created for a family members enjoyable center in Eagan, Minnesota.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for Eagan, Minnesota travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead project emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Eagan logo but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Eagan logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how essential a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Eagan, Minnesota book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a printed book because it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems like that in many instances one of the things consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Eagan logo style made use of for advertising and a tag design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Eagan, Minnesota, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that conveyed a spirit of contentment and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept that did not go the obvious course of making just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo style for a software program programmer the design features and legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

logo style done for Advanced Management Solutions, the characters for letter V as well as A in center of the word progressed have actually been modified to link straight into the words below.

A logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Eagan business logo dsign along with a graphic that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t actually composed for an Eagan, Minnesota area farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this brand was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to design a graphic that projected self-assurance, success, and luxury.

Eagan Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout function for externally encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo design made for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo design that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
