Edina Logo Design

Each and every new Edina business knows they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully realize the pivotal role their company logo will take in their financial success, or why one business logo performs far better than another. A logo design has an immediate and sustaining influence on the prosperity of a business, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Edina companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be realized in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Edina coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an older part of the community and hoped to project a nostalgic feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs via creating a logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs created for Edina medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the clinical assessment of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun facility in Edina.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Edina traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather project emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Edina logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Edina logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of challenges, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Edina publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most necessary part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it looks like that in many cases 1 of the things consumers often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Edina logo design utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Case includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Edina, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which communicated an atmosphere of contentment and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious direction of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a business logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian steed logo layout developed for a steed cattle ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a unique logo design customized to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. With a different head shape and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable equine breeds in the entire world.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a little restaurant, layout consists of a customized manuscript font style which floats over a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software programmer the style features and legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Develop logo design created for a Edina indoor designer, design feature a collection of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Edina interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who plans, investigates, coordinates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that involves conceptual development, area planning, location inspections, programming, research study, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the personalities for letter V and A in middle of words progressed have actually been modified to connect straight into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Edina logo design project was carried out for a management consultant that assists business professionals to become more efficient at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to market their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Edina logo dsign using an image which pulls in the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually designed for an Edina regional farm it was in reality created for an investments broker, and this company was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to create a brand mark that projected trust, success, and opulence.
Logo design made for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is reminiscent of a renowned sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
