TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design company offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t reimburse the amount of time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a design agency can only be judged by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t feature actual samples chances are they will not be able to produce a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and remembered, and it’s purpose is to reflect your unique vision for your organization. If a logo designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Farmington LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds develop notable brand identities. We’ve performed brand identity design work for ranchers, universities, heart surgeons, party planners, restaurants, retailers, and virtually every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes us different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every design as though it will be used as an electric sign. Because of our sign first method our brand identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to neon signs. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logos are equally effective whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and remembered regardless of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you might have stumbled upon in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are brought on board to perform, we perform ourselves. Irrespective of the kind of design project we accept, business logo, business website, trade show display, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our client’s projects to agencies based outside the US. When you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the cost of your design project and determines the terms of how you and I conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Farmington company knows they probably need a logo, yet few start ups fully recognize the crucial role their company logo can play in their success, or the reason that one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and long term impact on the viability of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Farmington companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not need consideration, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the process of marking something to ensure that it can be recognized, its foundation originates from the mark burned onto animals. Today a brand represents pretty much anything with an objective, regardless of whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of specifying the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are both from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest targeted at a target market, it’s objective is to create a mental image that the audience will likely connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and identity design. When somebody says the names Lamborghini or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people purchase those products. Brand image is why people get most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the origin of the majority of branding agencies you’ll find that they are often rebranded advertising agencies. When somebody says they are in advertising many people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design which helps form the perception of a business, a product or a business. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and also sales brochures. Some identity designers also develop web sites as well as user interfaces. The essential duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the goal of affecting activities, results and perceptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Farmington coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older part of the area and wanted to visualize an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by creating a custom logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs made for Farmington clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family members enjoyable facility in Farmington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Farmington travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead project emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Farmington logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Farmington logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo recognize how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s share of obstacles, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Farmington book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most necessary part of a printed book because it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it looks like that in many cases one of the aspects people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Farmington logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Farmington, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo jobs considering that it appears that each and every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a Farmington hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that projected an atmosphere of peace and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead created a business logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is more often than not the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the focus on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo layout created for an equine ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed an original logotype design customized to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. By having a distinctive head form and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily recognizable equine lineages in the whole world.

Las Coffee shop logo design a little dining establishment, layout includes a customized script typeface which floats over a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the style attributes as well as renowned Farmington component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Advance logo design developed for a Farmingtonindoor designer, layout feature a series of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Farmington interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Farmington, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of the word advanced have actually been modified to tie straight into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Farmington logo design job was done for a management consultant that enables business professionals to become more successful at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Farmington business logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to market their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Farmington logo design using an image which grabs the interest of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this Farmington company logo layout has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really created for an Farmington regional farm it was really created for a products broker, and this particular brand was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to make a graphic that projected confidence, financial success, and opulence.

Farmington Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style function for externally dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design made for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a famous Farmington sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the owner to design a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
