Hibbing Logo Design

Virtually every new Hibbing business knows they need a logo, yet few new business owners fully understand the essential role their organization logo will play in their becoming successful, or why one business logo functions better than another. A logo design has an immediate and lasting influence on the financial success of a business, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Hibbing companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Hibbing coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an old part of the town and wished to visualize a nostalgic tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by creating a logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs developed for Hibbing medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory examination of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable facility in Hibbing.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Hibbing traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hibbing logo but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Hibbing logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo realize how important a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s share of obstacles, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Hibbing publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most essential part of a published book because it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many cases one of the aspects consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Hibbing logo style utilized for advertising as well as a label style for Vintage Case includes an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Hibbing, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters startled in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that carried a feeling of tranquility and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious course of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo design which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program designer the layout features and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to market their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Hibbing business logo dsign using a graphic which pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really produced for an Hibbing area farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this particular company logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to make a brand mark that projected confidence, financial success, and opulence.
Logo created for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a well-known sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo design which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
