STRATEGIES ON PICKING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can not reimburse the amount of time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be judged by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not feature real life samples chances are they will not be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to reflect your personal vision for your business. If a designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they can get paid.

Northfield LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping small business owners cultivate notable brand identities. We’ve undertaken brand design work for ranchers, schools, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee shops, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes us different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every brand identity project as though it will be used as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first approach our logo designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first approach ensures that our logo designs are just as effective whether they are used in television commercials or web applications, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and remembered no matter of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that really sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you probably have stumbled upon in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are retained to perform, we do ourselves. Regardless of the kind of project we take on, logo, web site, trade show banners, or electric sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s projects to contractors based outside the United States. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the price of your project and determines the terms of how you and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Northfield entrepreneur realizes that they require a logo, but few new business owners entirely understand the key role their organization’s logo can perform in their financial success, or precisely why one business logo works more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and long term influence on the growth of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Northfield businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from label to retail signs a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be lasting and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the act of noting something so that it could be identified, its foundation comes from the mark burned onto livestock. These days a brand indicates practically anything with a motive, whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an inherent aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are each from the very same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition targeted at a specific audience, it’s goal is to produce an image that the audience can identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and identity design. When somebody mentions the names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals want those brands. Brand image is why people purchase specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the origin of the majority of branding companies you’ll find that they are often re-branded marketing companies. When someone claims they are in advertising and marketing most individuals will likely have an idea about what they do. But when someone says “I’m in branding”… it just seems more attractive, probably it’s due to the fact that most people do not fully understand what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and kind of attractive.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that explains the visual aspects of a product or company that affect perceptions. This primarily consists of the name, the logo, the packaging, the colors used yet can likewise consist of audio, lighting, texture, signs, really anything that can be seen, felt or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that focuses on a kind of visual design which helps shape the perception of a firm, a product or a company. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, sign designs, packaging, as well as collateral products such as cards, stationery, and also sales brochures. Some identity designers also build web sites and also user interfaces. The essential role of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and a psychological tone with the goal of influencing actions, end results and also assumptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Northfield coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening up in an older part of the town and wished to cast an old-fashioned tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved the two jobs via developing a business logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Northfield clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which works with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a household fun facility in Northfield.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - made for Northfield travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Northfield logo but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Northfield logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get honest judgements on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo realize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Northfield publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a printed book due to the fact that it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the traits people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Northfield logo layout utilized for marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Situation features an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Northfield, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it seems that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a Northfield hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that communicated a feeling of peace and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious direction of making just a stylized orchid but instead delivered a company logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is oftentimes the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the focus on the emotion that they wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian equine logo design developed for a horse cattle ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a distinct company logo design fashioned to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. With an unique head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable horse types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Northfield Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, layout includes a customized manuscript typeface which hovers over a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a small dining establishment, design includes a customized script font style which hovers above a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software program designer the style functions as well as iconic Northfield aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Advance logo layout created for a Northfieldindoor designer, design attribute a series of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the center of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Northfield interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who prepares, investigates, collaborates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, location assessments, programming, study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Northfield, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of the word progressed have been modified to connect directly into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Northfield logo design job was done for a leadership guide that assists business leaders to develop into more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Northfield business logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to market their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Northfield logo design design along with a graphic that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Northfield company logo layout has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t really created for an Northfield regional farm it was in reality created for an investments broker, and this creative logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to produce a graphic that projects esteem, effectiveness, and opulence.

Northfield Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style feature for externally encountering arrow and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo developed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is evocative a famous Northfield sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to develop a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
