Prior Lake Logo Design

Each and every new Prior Lake venture realizes that they require a logo, but few new business owners entirely realize the essential role their organization logo can make in their financial success, or the reason that one business logo functions better than another. A company logo has a critical and lasting impact on the success of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Prior Lake companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Prior Lake coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an old part of the city and wished to cast an old-fashioned feel without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by developing a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also germs developed for Prior Lake clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Prior Lake.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Prior Lake traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather project emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Prior Lake logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Prior Lake logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo understand how essential a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of challenges, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Prior Lake publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most vital part of a published book since it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems that in many instances one of the items folks often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a feeling of flight and it was definitely a victory.

Prior Lake logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Situation features an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Prior Lake, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs because it seems that virtually every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that communicated an atmosphere of serenity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious direction of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively created a company logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is usually the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Coffee shop logo style a little dining establishment, layout contains a changed manuscript typeface which hovers above a team of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software application programmer the design functions and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Progress logo style produced for a Prior Lake interior developer, style function a series of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to market their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Prior Lake logo dsign using an image which grabs the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually produced for an Prior Lake area farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this company logo was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to develop an identity that projects confidence, success, and wealth.
Logo designed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a popular sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
