STRATEGIES ON CHOOSING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design company presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they simply cannot refund the amount of time you commit which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but inevitably a design firm can only be determined from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real life examples odds are they won’t be able to produce a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s goal is to mirror your personal vision for your business. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Biloxi LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs develop unforgettable brand identities. We have performed brand design work for ranchers, educational institutions, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee roasters, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every logo design project as if it will be used as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first strategy our logo designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to neon signs. Our sign first method insures that our logos are equally reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or web headers, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and always remembered regardless of size or function.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that really sets ImageCo apart from other design companies that you might possibly have stumbled upon in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are retained to do, we perform ourselves. Irrespective of the kind of project we undertake, business logo, web page, trade show booth, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s projects to agencies based outside the US. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the price of your project and imposes the terms of how we do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Biloxi entrepreneur knows they require a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly grasp the key role their company logo will perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo has an immediate and long-term influence on the prosperity of a company, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Biloxi companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to retail signs a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be lasting and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb as well as a noun, it is an identifying mark and the act of noting something so that it can be identified, its foundation originates from the brand branded onto animals. Today a brand indicates pretty much anything with an objective, regardless if it be revenue or government agencies, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the value of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy cousin, they are each from the very same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest targeted at a target audience, it’s objective is to produce an image that the target market can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody says the brand names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes people want those brands. Brand image is why individuals buy most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the origin of many branding agencies you’ll find that they are frequently re-branded advertising agencies. When a person claims they are in advertising and marketing many people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. Yet when a person states “I’m in branding”… it just sounds more attractive, possibly it’s due to the fact that lots of people don’t understand what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and kind of sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that explains the visual elements of a product or company that affect understandings. This largely consists of the name, the logo design, the packaging, the different colors used but can additionally include sound, lights, texture, signs, just about anything that can be seen, felt or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that specializes in a type of visual design that helps shape the image of a firm, a product or a company. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and pamphlets. Some visual designers also design web sites as well as software interfaces. The important role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the goal of influencing activities, results as well as perceptions.

select signs/logos

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Biloxi coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an older part of town and wished to project a retro tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks via developing a logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria created for Biloxi medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog developed for a family members enjoyable center in Biloxi.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Biloxi travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather project emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Biloxi logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Biloxi logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how essential a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s share of difficulties, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Biloxi book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, however it really is the most critical part of a published book given that it is in most cases the very first thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems that in many occurrences one of the items consumers tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a spirit of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Biloxi logo layout used for marketing and a tag design for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Biloxi, design include an arc with lines converging through it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a Biloxi hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which conveyed a sense of relaxation and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a company logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian steed logo style created for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed an original custom logo design styled to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. By having an identifiable head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most easily recognizable equine types in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Biloxi Coffee shop logo style a small restaurant, design includes a changed script font which floats over a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a small restaurant, design consists of a customized manuscript typeface which floats over a group of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software program developer the layout attributes and legendary Biloxi element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a company logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

Evolve logo style developed for a Biloxiinterior developer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Biloxi interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is someone who plans, researches, collaborates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a diverse occupation that involves conceptual development, area planning, location examinations, programming, research study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Biloxi, the personalities for letter V as well as A in center of words progressed have actually been customized to tie directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Biloxi logo design project was done for a management expert that aids business professionals to become more effective at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Biloxi business logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Biloxi logo design design along with an image which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo design MQ farms, this Biloxi company logo style has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really created for an Biloxi regional farm it was really developed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to generate a brand mark that projected self-assurance, financial success, and prosperity.

Biloxi Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly encountering arrowhead and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without knowing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design developed for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is evocative a well-known Biloxi sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
