Greenwood, Mississippi Logo Design

Every new Greenwood business knows they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully recognize the essential role their logo design can play in their success, or exactly why one logo performs more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and sustaining influence on the prosperity of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Greenwood, Mississippi businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be lasting and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Greenwood, Mississippi coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an older section of town and really wanted to cast a retro tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by creating a symbol concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Greenwood, Mississippi medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a leaping green frog created for a household fun facility in Greenwood, Mississippi.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Greenwood, Mississippi traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Greenwood logo but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Greenwood logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to share it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get impartial assessments on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo design understand how essential a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo job has it’s share of hurdles, however the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Greenwood, Mississippi book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a published book given that it is usually the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many occurrences one of the items folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Greenwood logo design used for marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Greenwood, Mississippi, design include an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which carried an atmosphere of peace and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the attention on the emotion that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software developer the layout attributes as well as legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to market their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Greenwood logo design dsign using an image that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo style has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Greenwood, Mississippi regional farm it was in reality devised for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to develop a image that projects trust, success, and prosperity.

Greenwood Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout feature for outwardly dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the first go.

Logo developed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
