TIPS ON SELECTING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can not reimburse the amount of time you commit which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but inevitably a designer can only be determined by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio does not feature actual examples chances are they will never be able to produce a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and remembered, and it’s purpose is to mirror your personal vision for your business. If a logo designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how fast they will get paid.

Gulfport LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners develop notable brands. We’ve done brand identity design work for mechanics, schools, diamond miners, party planners, restaurants, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes ImageCo unique compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every brand identity project as though it will be used as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first strategy our logo designs can, and have been utilized in everything from clothing labels to neon signs. Our sign first approach insures that our logos are just as successful whether they are used in TV commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and always remembered no matter of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

Something that seriously sets ImageCo apart from many of the design companies that you might have found on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are retained to do, we perform in-house. No matter the kind of design project we undertake, business logo, website design, trade show banners, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will farm out our customer’s work to contractors located outside the USA. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the cost of your design project and determines the conditions of how we conduct business.

QUALITIES OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Every new Gulfport organization realizes that they require a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly recognize the essential role their company logo can make in their success, or precisely why one logo design works more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting impact on the growth of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Gulfport businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t need scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or company they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be enduring and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the process of marking something so that it could be distinguished, its genesis comes from the brand branded onto livestock. These days a brand indicates virtually anything with an intention, regardless of whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the worth of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are both from the very same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition directed at a specific audience, it’s objective is to develop an image that the target market can relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When a person says the brand names Ferrari or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why individuals identify with most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Agencies – If you reflect on the origin of a lot of branding companies you’ll find that they are quite often rebranded marketing and advertising agencies. When someone says they are in advertising and marketing most individuals will likely have an idea about what they do. Yet when somebody claims “I’m in branding”… it simply sounds much more impressive, maybe it’s due to the fact that most people don’t know what it means to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and perhaps even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that explains the visual components of a product or agency that affect perceptions. This mainly consists of the name, the logo, the product packaging, the different colors utilized however can also consist of sound, lighting, texture, signage, really anything that can be seen, felt or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that specializes in a type of visual design which helps form the perception of a company, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as cards, stationery, as well as pamphlets. Some identity designers also build websites as well as user interfaces. The crucial role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, end results and understandings.

Featured logos & signs

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Gulfport coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an older part of town and wished to project a retro tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by designing a trademark design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria created for Gulfport clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members enjoyable center in Gulfport.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Gulfport travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Gulfport logo but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Gulfport logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective point of views on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo understand how important a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of obstacles, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Gulfport book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most necessary part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it looks like that in many occurrences one of the aspects individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was definitely a winner.

Gulfport logo layout used for marketing and a label layout for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Gulfport, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that each and every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a Gulfport hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that communicated a spirit of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious course of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo design which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is generally the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian equine logo style developed for a horse ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created an original logotype concept styled to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With a different head shape and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable horse types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Gulfport restaurant logo style a tiny dining establishment, design consists of a modified manuscript font which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a small restaurant, style includes a changed script font which hovers over a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software program programmer the layout features and also renowned Gulfport component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Progress logo design developed for a Gulfportinterior designer, design feature a collection of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the center of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Gulfport interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is someone who arranges, investigates, coordinates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a diverse profession that involves conceptual development, area planning, site examinations, programming, research study, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Gulfport, the personalities for letter V as well as A in center of words advanced have actually been modified to tie straight right into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Gulfport logo design assignment was carried out for a leadership advisor that helps business leaders to become more successful at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Gulfport business logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Gulfport business logo design using a graphic which pulls in the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Gulfport company logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t actually produced for an Gulfport area farm it was really created for a products broker, and this creative logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to develop an identity that projected esteem, success, and affluence.

Gulfport Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly facing arrow as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without recognizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo design developed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is similar to a well-known Gulfport sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the business owner to design a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
