Hernando, Mississippi Logo Design

Every new Hernando business person understands that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the key role their business logo can perform in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design works better than another. A logo has an immediate and long term effect on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Hernando, Mississippi businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to signboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be lasting and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.
Retro logo design of a bike created for a Hernando, Mississippi coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an older section of the town and wished to project an old-fashioned feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by means of developing a logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for Hernando, Mississippi clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable facility in Hernando, Mississippi.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Hernando, Mississippi travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hernando logo design but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Hernando logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get objective opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo understand how essential a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of obstacles, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Hernando, Mississippi publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most necessary part of a printed book considering that it is usually the initial thing a person views in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems that in many instances 1 of the traits individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Hernando logo layout utilized for marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Hernando, Mississippi, layout include an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo which conveyed a feeling of serenity and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious path of creating just a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is frequently the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the attention on the emotion that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo design for a software program programmer the design attributes as well as famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Hernando logo dsign using an illustration which seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Hernando, Mississippi regional farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to create an identity that projects esteem, effectiveness, and affluence.

Hernando Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout function for externally dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo made for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is similar to a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
