Horn Lake Logo Design

Nearly every new Horn Lake company understands that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the pivotal role their business logo will take in their financial success, or why one logo works more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting impact on the success of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Horn Lake businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Horn Lake coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an old part of town and wanted to visualize a retro vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks via creating a sign concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs made for Horn Lake clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family fun center in Horn Lake.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Horn Lake traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Horn Lake logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Horn Lake logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial judgements on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their business logo understand how important a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design job has it’s share of challenges, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Horn Lake publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most critical part of a printed book because it is usually the initial thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems like that in many cases 1 of the things consumers tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Horn Lake logo design used for marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this brand design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Horn Lake, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it appears that every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which related a spirit of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept that did not go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead designed a business logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is in most cases the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo style developed for a steed ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software application designer the design functions and famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Horn Lake logo dsign utilizing an illustration that garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really created for an Horn Lake regional farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this logo was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to generate an identity that projected self-confidence, success, and luxury.
Logo design made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is similar to a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
