Oxford, Mississippi Logo Design

Each and every new Oxford business professional knows they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly grasp the crucial role their logo will take in their becoming successful, or why one logo design performs better than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting influence on the growth of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Oxford, Mississippi businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be ageless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Oxford, Mississippi coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an old section of the community and wished to project a retro feel without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved both jobs by means of creating a symbol concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria designed for Oxford, Mississippi clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical assessment of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable center in Oxford, Mississippi.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Oxford, Mississippi travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead project emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Oxford logo design but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Oxford logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo understand how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s portion of hurdles, but the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Oxford, Mississippi book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most important part of a printed book considering that it is often the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems that in many cases 1 of the things folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was definitely a success.

Oxford logo design utilized for advertising and marketing and a label layout for Vintage Case features an old font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Oxford, Mississippi, layout include an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design that carried a sense of peace and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious course of creating simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a company logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is frequently the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software designer the style functions and also famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell off their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Oxford logo design dsign using a graphic which pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really developed for an Oxford, Mississippi regional farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this particular creative logo was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to produce a brand mark that projects confidence, financial success, and prosperity.

Oxford Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design feature for ostensibly facing arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo designed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a popular sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
