Oxford Logo Design

Every new Oxford company understands that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully understand the key role their logo can make in their success, or the reason that one business logo performs more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting effect on the growth of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Oxford companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Oxford coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an old part of the town and wanted to visualize an old-fashioned feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs via designing a sign design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and germs developed for Oxford medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a family members fun facility in Oxford.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Oxford travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Oxford logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Oxford logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased judgements on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design comprehend how essential a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Oxford publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most critical part of a published book considering that it is usually the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems that in many cases one of the aspects people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was definitely a winner.

Oxford logo style utilized for marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Oxford, style include an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it seems that almost every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which carried a feeling of relaxation and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious direction of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is usually the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo style a little dining establishment, design includes a changed manuscript font which hovers above a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the style attributes and also legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Oxford logo design assignment was carried out for a management advisor that enables business leaders to develop into more efficient at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Oxford business logo dsign using an image that grabs the interest of traffic and sends an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo style has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t actually developed for an Oxford area farm it was in reality designed for a products broker, and this company was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to create a brand mark that projected self-assurance, success, and opulence.
Logo design developed for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is evocative a famous sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
