Missouri Logo Design

Every new Missouri business understands that they need a logo, but few new business owners fully are aware of the vital role their business logo will make in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and long-term impact on the financial success of a company, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Missouri companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Missouri coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an older section of the town and wished to visualize a retro vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both jobs by means of creating a trademark design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Missouri clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design Project

Pathology is the science that analyzes the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members fun center in Missouri.

Cool Springs | Retail Branding Project

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - designed for Missouri travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Missouri logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Missouri logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design Project

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest opinions on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design understand how essential a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s share of hurdles, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Missouri publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design Project

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, yet it is the most crucial part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books. This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design Project

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many cases one of the items individuals tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Missouri logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design Project

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Missouri, layout include an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design Project

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it appears that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession. I really really love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on. Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.
William McNally logo made for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design Project

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to project. The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.
Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which communicated a spirit of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious course of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design Project

Logo layout for a software program designer the design features and also legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design Project

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell off their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Missouri logo design design with an image that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really designed for an Missouri area farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to generate a image that projects trust, success, and prosperity.

Missouri Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design function for ostensibly encountering arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo developed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to create a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
