TIPS ON DETERMINING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design agency offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the time you commit which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be evaluated by the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t feature real life samples chances are they will not be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to reflect your unique vision for your business. If a logo designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Belton LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs establish memorable brand identities. We’ve undertaken brand design work for ranchers, educational institutions, diamond miners, wedding singers, cafes, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business you can think of. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every design as if it will be utilized as an electric sign. Because of our sign first strategy our identity designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first method ensures that our logo designs are just as effective whether they are used in TV commercials or web headers, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and remembered regardless of scale or use.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design companies that you might possibly have found in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are brought on board to do, we do in-house. Irrespective of the type of design project we accept, business logo, web page, trade show booth, or retail sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our client’s projects to organizations located outside the USA. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the cost of your project and determines the terms of how my customers and I do business.

ASPECTS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Belton entrepreneur realizes that they need a logo, yet few start-ups fully grasp the essential role their company logo will make in their success, or the reason that one business logo functions better than another. A logo design has an instant and lasting influence on the growth of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Belton companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t need contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to store signs a scalable logo design will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or company they brand.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb as well as a noun, it is an identifying mark and the act of denoting something so that it can be recognized, its genesis originates from the brand branded onto animals. Nowadays a brand signifies pretty much anything with a motive, whether it be revenue or politics, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the worth of a specific thing in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive sister, they are all from the same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition directed at a target market, it’s objective is to create an image that the audience will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When someone mentions the brand names Porsche or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people purchase those products. Brand image is why people get specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the beginning of many branding companies you’ll find that they are often rebranded advertising and marketing companies. When a person states they are in advertising the majority of people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that concentrates on a type of visual design that helps form the public image of a business, a product or a company. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, packaging, and collateral products such as cards, stationery, and sales brochures. Some visual designers also build sites and also user interfaces. The important duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and a psychological tone with the goal of affecting activities, results and perceptions.

select logos & signs

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Belton coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an old section of the town and hoped to cast a nostalgic feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both jobs via creating a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs created for Belton medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a family members fun facility in Belton.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - developed for Belton travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Belton logo design but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Belton logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get objective point of views on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how essential a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of hurdles, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Belton publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most critical part of a published book because it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many instances one of the things individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was surely a winner.

Belton logo design used for advertising and marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Belton, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects because it seems that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a Belton hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which carried a sense of calmness and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a company logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian horse logo style developed for a steed ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a distinct brand design fashioned to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. By having a distinctive head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most immediately recognizable horse types in the world.

Las Cafe, A Belton restaurant logo style a small dining establishment, layout includes a changed script font style which hovers above a group of elaborate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a tiny restaurant, style includes a modified manuscript font which hovers over a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software designer the layout features as well as iconic Belton component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

Advance logo design produced for a Beltoninterior designer, design function a series of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Belton interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who plans, investigates, coordinates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that involves conceptual development, space planning, location examinations, programming, analysis, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Belton, the characters for letter V and A in center of words progressed have actually been modified to link straight right into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Belton logo design project was carried out for a leadership specialist that assists business leaders to develop into more effective at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Belton business logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell off their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Belton business logo design utilizing an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Belton company logo style has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t actually produced for an Belton area farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this particular trademark was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to generate an identity that projects confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.

Belton Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style function for externally dealing with arrowhead as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo developed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a famous Belton sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
