Cape Girardeau, Missouri Logo Design

Nearly every new Cape Girardeau business understands that they need a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the key role their organization logo can take in their success, or why one business logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Cape Girardeau, Missouri companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require deliberation, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Cape Girardeau, Missouri coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening in an old part of the area and wanted to visualize a retro atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks via designing a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Cape Girardeau, Missouri clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical assessment of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Cape Girardeau, Missouri travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Cape Girardeau logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Cape Girardeau logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get objective opinions on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo recognize how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s portion of obstacles, however the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Cape Girardeau, Missouri publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most necessary part of a printed book given that it is usually the initial thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems like that in many instances one of the things people usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Cape Girardeau logo style used for advertising and a label design for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, style include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that every single dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really really love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which conveyed a feeling of contentment and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious course of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo design which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is usually the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the importance on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software application developer the layout attributes and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Cape Girardeau business logo dsign along with an image that captures the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually produced for an Cape Girardeau, Missouri regional farm it was actually developed for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to make a graphic that projected trust, effectiveness, and opulence.

Cape Girardeau Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo developed for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is similar to a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
