Clayton Logo Design

Virtually every new Clayton business knows they require a logo, but few new business owners fully are aware of the pivotal role their business logo will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and lasting effect on the growth of a business, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Clayton companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require consideration, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Clayton coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older part of town and wanted to visualize a vintage atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks via designing a company logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria created for Clayton medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a leaping green frog designed for a household enjoyable facility in Clayton.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Clayton traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Clayton logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Clayton logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo understand how crucial a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of hurdles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Clayton publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most critical part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person views in the book shop. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems that in many cases 1 of the aspects people usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was surely a victory.

Clayton logo layout made use of for marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Clayton, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which carried an atmosphere of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of making just a stylized orchid but rather created a logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the focus on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo style for a software application designer the style features and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell off their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Clayton logo design dsign using an illustration which captures the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really created for an Clayton regional farm it was really developed for a products broker, and this business logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to generate a graphic that projects self-confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo created for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is similar to a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the business owner to produce a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
