East Independence Logo Design

Every new East Independence organization understands that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the crucial role their logo design will make in their financial success, or exactly why one logo functions more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and lasting effect on the prosperity of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help East Independence companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a East Independence coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening in an older section of the area and wanted to cast a nostalgic vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by designing a logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria designed for East Independence medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping green frog designed for a family members enjoyable center in East Independence.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - developed for East Independence traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  East Independence logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

East Independence logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo comprehend how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of hurdles, however the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for East Independence publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most important part of a published book considering that it is often the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems like that in many cases one of the traits consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of flight and it was surely a success.

East Independence logo layout utilized for marketing and a label layout for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in East Independence, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs considering that it appears that virtually every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which conveyed a feeling of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept which did not go the obvious route of crafting just a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo style for a software developer the style attributes and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell off their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their East Independence logo dsign with an image which garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an East Independence area farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this particular brand was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to develop a graphic that projected confidence, success, and opulence.
Logo design made for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
