Ferguson Logo Design

Every new Ferguson venture knows they require a logo, yet few new business owners fully understand the key role their company logo can take in their financial success, or exactly why one business logo performs better than another. A company logo has a critical and long-term influence on the growth of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Ferguson companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand consideration, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Ferguson coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an older section of the area and really wanted to project an old-fashioned feel without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by designing a company logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs made for Ferguson medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the clinical examination of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a household fun facility in Ferguson.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - made for Ferguson traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead project emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Ferguson logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Ferguson logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest assessments on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design recognize how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project has it’s portion of hurdles, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Ferguson book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a printed book given that it is usually the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems like that in many instances 1 of the items individuals tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was surely a victory.

Ferguson logo layout made use of for marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Case includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this business logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Ferguson, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which carried a feeling of simplicity and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but instead created a logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is in most cases the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a small restaurant, style contains a customized manuscript font which floats above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software program programmer the design features and famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Evolve logo layout produced for a Ferguson indoor developer, layout feature a collection of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to market their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Ferguson logo design dsign using an image which pulls in the interest of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Ferguson regional farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this particular brand was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to develop an identity that projected trust, financial success, and affluence.
Logo design made for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
