Hannibal Logo Design

Every new Hannibal venture realizes that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely understand the key role their logo will take in their success, or exactly why one business logo works more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting effect on the financial success of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Hannibal businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Hannibal coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an older part of the area and really wanted to project a nostalgic feel without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both jobs via designing a symbol design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Hannibal medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the clinical examination of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family members fun facility in Hannibal.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Hannibal travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hannibal logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Hannibal logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get honest viewpoints on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design understand how important a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Hannibal publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a printed book considering that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it looks like that in many occurrences one of the traits consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was surely a success.

Hannibal logo design used for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Hannibal, design include an arc with lines converging via it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that related a sense of ease and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is generally the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the emphasis on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the layout functions and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

Progress logo layout created for a Hannibal indoor developer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Hannibal logo dsign using an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really created for an Hannibal regional farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to design a brand mark that projects self-assurance, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo design made for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to create a business logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
