Hazelwood Logo Design

Nearly every new Hazelwood venture knows they need a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly are aware of the pivotal role their company logo will perform in their success, or why one logo works far better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the success of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Hazelwood businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Hazelwood coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an old part of the town and wanted to visualize a vintage feel without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks via developing a logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Hazelwood clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a household enjoyable facility in Hazelwood.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Hazelwood travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hazelwood logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Hazelwood logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased point of views on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project has it’s share of challenges, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Hazelwood publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a printed book since it is in most cases the very first thing a person views in the book shop. Concerning a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems like that in many cases 1 of the traits consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a winner.

Hazelwood logo style used for advertising and a label style for Vintage Instance includes an archaic font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Hazelwood, layout include an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that virtually every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that conveyed a sense of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious route of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is generally the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian horse logo style created for a horse ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo layout a tiny restaurant, layout contains a changed manuscript typeface which floats above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design attributes and also renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

Progress logo design produced for a Hazelwood indoor developer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Hazelwood business logo dsign along with an image which grabs the interest of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t really created for an Hazelwood area farm it was really developed for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to create a brand mark that projected assurance, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo design made for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is reminiscent of a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
