Lee's Summit Logo Design

Virtually every new Lee’s Summit business realizes that they need a logo, however few new business owners entirely are aware of the crucial role their company logo can perform in their financial success, or why one logo design functions better than another. A business logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the growth of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Lee’s Summit companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Lee's Summit coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening up in an older section of the city and wanted to cast an old-fashioned tone without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved both tasks by developing a trademark concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and germs designed for Lee's Summit clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping green frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Lee's Summit.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - created for Lee's Summit travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lee’s Summit logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Lee's Summit logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective point of views on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo understand how essential a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of obstacles, however the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Lee's Summit book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most essential part of a printed book considering that it is often the very first thing a person views in the book store. Concerning a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many instances one of the things people tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was surely a winner.

Lee's Summit logo style used for advertising and also a label design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Lee's Summit, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs because it seems that every single dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo which conveyed a spirit of calmness and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious course of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the importance on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian horse logo design developed for a steed cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a unique logo concept tailored to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. By having a different head shape and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily identifiable equine lineages in the whole world.

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny dining establishment, design contains a customized script typeface which hovers above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo design for a software program programmer the style functions and iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Lee’s Summit business logo dsign with an illustration which garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Lee’s Summit regional farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this logo design was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to design a graphic that projected assurance, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo design made for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
