TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to remember that they simply cannot refund the time you invest which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but inevitably a design firm can only be evaluated by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t feature actual samples chances are they will never be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to reflect your personal vision for your organization. If a logo designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Manchester LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds establish unforgettable brand identities. We’ve performed brand identity design work for builders, colleges, heart surgeons, party planners, cafes, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes us different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every design as if it will be utilized as an electric sign. Because of our sign first strategy our logo designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to electrical signs. Our sign first method insures that our logo designs are just as successful whether they are used in TV commercials or web apps, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and remembered no matter of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which truly sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you probably have come across in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are enlisted to do, we perform in-house. Regardless of the kind of design project we accept, logo design, web site, trade show banners, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job-out our client’s projects to 3rd parties based outside the US. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that marks up the cost of your project and determines the terms of how we do business.

ASPECTS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Manchester business knows they probably need a logo, however few start-ups entirely recognize the essential role their company logo will make in their success, or the reason that one logo works better than another. A logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the prosperity of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Manchester companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not need consideration, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be lasting and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the process of noting something so that it could be distinguished, its foundation comes from the mark burned onto animals. These days a brand indicates basically anything with an intention, regardless of whether it be earnings or government agencies, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the value of a specific thing in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy cousin, they are each from the same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest aimed at a specific audience, it’s objective is to develop a mental image that the audience will connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody mentions the brand names Ferrari or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes people buy those brands. Brand image is why people get most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the origin of most branding companies you’ll find that they are frequently rebranded advertising agencies. When a person states they are in marketing lots of people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. Yet when someone says “I am in branding”… it just seems more attractive, probably it’s since the majority of people do not recognize what it means to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and attractive.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that defines the visual elements of a product or company that influence perceptions. This largely includes the name, the logo design, the product packaging, the colors utilized but can additionally include audio, lights, texture, signage, actually anything that can be seen, touched or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that concentrates on a type of visual design that helps form the image of a company, a product or a business. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, as well as collateral products such as cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some identity designers also develop sites and user interfaces. The crucial function of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues as well as a psychological tone with the objective of affecting actions, results as well as assumptions.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Manchester coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were launching in an old section of the city and wished to project an old-fashioned tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks via creating a sign concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria made for Manchester medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the clinical examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recollect where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household fun center in Manchester.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for Manchester travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Manchester logo but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Manchester logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo comprehend how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of challenges, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Manchester publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most important part of a printed book because it is often the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the things folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was surely a success.

Manchester logo design utilized for advertising as well as a tag layout for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Manchester, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a Manchester hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that related a spirit of contentment and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian steed logo style produced for a horse ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed an original logo design tailored to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. By having a distinctive head form and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately identifiable equine types in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Manchester restaurant logo style a little dining establishment, style consists of a customized script font which floats above a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a small dining establishment, layout contains a changed manuscript typeface which hovers over a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software programmer the design features and iconic Manchester element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

Progress logo layout produced for a Manchesterindoor designer, layout function a series of red circles that intersect as well as change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Manchester interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who arranges, investigates, collaborates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, location inspections, programming, investigation, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Manchester, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of the word progressed have actually been modified to connect directly right into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Manchester logo design project was completed for a leadership coach that enables business professionals to become more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A Manchester business logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell off their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Manchester logo design with a graphic which seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Manchester company logo design has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really composed for an Manchester area farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this particular trademark was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to create an identity that projects self-confidence, financial success, and affluence.

Manchester Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for outwardly dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the liberty to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design made for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a popular Manchester sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to design a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
