Maryland Heights Logo Design

Every new Maryland Heights venture knows they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners entirely comprehend the key role their logo can make in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design works more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting influence on the growth of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Maryland Heights companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require consideration, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Maryland Heights coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were launching in an old section of the city and hoped to visualize a retro feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs via developing a trademark design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs developed for Maryland Heights clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Maryland Heights.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - developed for Maryland Heights travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Maryland Heights logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Maryland Heights logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased opinions on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how important a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of challenges, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Maryland Heights publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most vital part of a published book because it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems like that in many cases one of the aspects individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Maryland Heights logo style utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Case includes an antiquated font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Maryland Heights, layout include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that every single dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which communicated a spirit of serenity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of creating simply a stylized orchid but rather created a business logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the importance on the perception that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo design produced for a horse ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software application designer the style attributes and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Advance logo design produced for a Maryland Heights interior developer, style function a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

A logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to market their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Maryland Heights business logo dsign with an image that pulls in the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really created for an Maryland Heights area farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this company was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to create a brand mark that projects trust, financial success, and wealth.
Logo developed for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
