Poplar Bluff Logo Design

Every new Poplar Bluff company understands that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely grasp the vital role their company logo will play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one business logo performs far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and long term impact on the financial success of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Poplar Bluff businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand deliberation, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Poplar Bluff coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older part of the community and really wanted to visualize a vintage tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs via designing a sign design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Poplar Bluff clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more memorable.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a family members enjoyable facility in Poplar Bluff.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Poplar Bluff traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Poplar Bluff logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Poplar Bluff logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get objective assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how essential a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo job possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Poplar Bluff book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most critical part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems like that in many cases 1 of the things folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of flight and it was definitely a success.

Poplar Bluff logo layout used for advertising and marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Instance features an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Poplar Bluff, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it seems that every single dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that related an atmosphere of ease and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious path of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead designed a business logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is frequently the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the importance on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo style for a software program designer the design attributes as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Poplar Bluff logo dsign using an illustration which pulls in the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually developed for an Poplar Bluff regional farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this logo design was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to generate a brand mark that projects confidence, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo design created for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
