POINTERS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design agency offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can not refund the amount of time you commit which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio does not feature real life examples chances are they won’t be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to echo your unique vision for your company. If a logo designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how fast they can get paid.

Sedalia LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs grow unforgettable brands. We have done brand identity design work for mechanics, educational institutions, heart surgeons, party planners, coffee shops, retailers, and practically every other kind of business you can envision. What makes us unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every logo design project as if it will be utilized as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first technique our designs can, and have been used in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first technique guarantees that our logo designs are equally effective whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and always remembered irrespective of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design companies that you might have encountered on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are hired to perform, we perform ourselves. No matter the type of design project we take on, logo, website design, trade show display, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job out our customer’s projects to companies based outside the United States. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that increases the cost of your project and imposes the conditions of how you and I conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Sedalia company understands that they probably need a logo, however few new business owners entirely recognize the vital role their company logo will perform in their success, or precisely why one business logo works better than another. A company logo has an instant and long-term influence on the viability of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Sedalia companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need consideration, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to retail signs a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark and the process of noting something so that it can be recognized, its genesis comes from the mark burned onto livestock. These days a brand symbolizes practically anything with a motive, regardless of whether it be profit or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the worth of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive sister, they are both from the same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest directed at a target audience, it’s objective is to produce an image that the target market can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing and identity design. When somebody mentions the brand names Ferrari or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals buy those products. Brand image is why individuals buy most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the beginning of the majority of branding firms you’ll find that they are frequently re-branded advertising companies. When somebody states they are in advertising most people will likely have an idea about what they do. However when someone says “I am in branding”… it just seems much more attractive, maybe it’s because lots of people do not understand what it means to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and maybe even attractive.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that describes the visual components of a product or company that influence view points. This mostly includes the name, the logo, the product packaging, the different colors utilized yet can likewise include audio, lighting, texture, signage, just about anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that focuses on a type of visual design that helps shape the image of a firm, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and also collateral products such as cards, stationery, and pamphlets. Some visual designers also design sites and also user interfaces. The important role of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the objective of influencing activities, end results as well as perceptions.

select signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Sedalia coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were actually launching in an old section of the city and wished to project a vintage feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks via creating a business logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs made for Sedalia clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the laboratory assessment of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable facility in Sedalia.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for Sedalia travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather project emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sedalia logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Sedalia logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get honest viewpoints on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of challenges, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Sedalia book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a published book since it is usually the primary thing a person sees in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems like that in many cases 1 of the aspects consumers usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Sedalia logo design made use of for marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Instance features an old typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Sedalia, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it appears that each and every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design created for a Sedalia hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that conveyed a feeling of tranquility and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is generally the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo layout created for a steed ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind organization logo design customized to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. With a different head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable equine lineages in the world.

Las Cafe, A Sedalia restaurant logo design a small restaurant, design contains a changed manuscript font which floats over a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a small restaurant, layout consists of a changed script font which hovers above a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the style functions and also legendary Sedalia aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Evolve logo style created for a Sedaliaindoor designer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Sedalia interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who organizes, investigates, coordinates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, location evaluations, programming, investigation, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Sedalia, the personalities for letter V and also A in middle of words progressed have been customized to link straight into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Sedalia logo design job was carried out for a management guide that assists business professionals to become more efficient at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Sedalia business logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Sedalia logo design design along with an illustration which seizes the interest of vehicles and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this Sedalia company logo style has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really created for an Sedalia area farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this logo was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to make a graphic that projected self-assurance, success, and wealth.

Sedalia Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout function for outwardly dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo design made for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a popular Sedalia sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
