Grand Island Logo Design

Nearly every new Grand Island company understands that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly are aware of the key role their organization logo will make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo works better than another. A logo design has an immediate and sustaining effect on the prosperity of a company, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Grand Island companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Grand Island coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older section of town and hoped to visualize a retro vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both tasks by means of designing a sign design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria made for Grand Island clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family fun center in Grand Island.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Grand Island traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Grand Island logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Grand Island logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased judgements on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo design recognize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of hurdles, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Grand Island publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most essential part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems that in many occurrences one of the aspects individuals often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Grand Island logo layout used for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this brand design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Grand Island, style include an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it appears that every single dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which related an atmosphere of simplicity and class for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious course of creating just a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian equine logo design produced for an equine cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a distinct brand concept customized to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With an unique head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily recognizable equine lineages in the entire world.

Logo style for a software program programmer the style attributes and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Grand Island logo dsign utilizing an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Grand Island area farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this company logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to produce a brand mark that projected self-assurance, success, and affluence.
Logo design developed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is evocative a famous sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
