Hastings, Nebraska Logo Design

Every new Hastings venture knows they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners entirely comprehend the crucial role their business logo can perform in their becoming successful, or exactly why one business logo functions far better than another. A logo design has an instant and long term impact on the growth of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Hastings, Nebraska companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Hastings, Nebraska coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually launching in an old part of the city and hoped to visualize a nostalgic tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by developing a business logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs made for Hastings, Nebraska clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Hastings, Nebraska.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Hastings, Nebraska travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hastings logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Hastings logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design understand how vital a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo job has it’s portion of challenges, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Hastings, Nebraska book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems like that in many instances 1 of the traits consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Hastings logo style utilized for marketing and a tag style for Vintage Case includes an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Hastings, Nebraska, design include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that almost every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually enjoy doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that communicated an atmosphere of relaxation and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but rather created a business logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the focus on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo design created for a steed ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a unique brand concept styled to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. By having an identifiable head form and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly easily identifiable equine breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe logo layout a tiny restaurant, design includes a changed manuscript typeface which hovers over a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software program developer the design attributes as well as legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a business logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell off their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Hastings business logo dsign using an illustration which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Hastings, Nebraska regional farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to create an identity that projects confidence, financial success, and opulence.

Hastings Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style function for ostensibly encountering arrow as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without recognizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo designed for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a famous sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the owner to develop a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
