Lincoln, Nebraska Logo Design

Each and every new Lincoln company realizes that they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners fully recognize the crucial role their logo can play in their success, or the reason that one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and sustaining effect on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Lincoln, Nebraska businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Lincoln, Nebraska coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were opening up in an older section of the community and hoped to project a vintage atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks by designing a business logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and also germs created for Lincoln, Nebraska medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping green frog developed for a household enjoyable facility in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - made for Lincoln, Nebraska travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lincoln logo but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Lincoln logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased point of views on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Lincoln, Nebraska publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most necessary part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Lincoln logo design utilized for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Instance features an archaic typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this business logo design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Lincoln, Nebraska, design include an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects because it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that projected an atmosphere of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is frequently the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo design for a software application programmer the style functions as well as renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell off their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Lincoln logo design dsign using an illustration that captures the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t really composed for an Lincoln, Nebraska area farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this logo design was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to create a graphic that projected confidence, financial success, and wealth.

Lincoln Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout feature for outwardly encountering arrow as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design developed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
