North Platte, Nebraska Logo Design

Virtually every new North Platte business professional realizes that they require a logo, yet few new business owners entirely grasp the essential role their company logo can take in their success, or the reason that one business logo functions more effectively than another. A logo design has an immediate and long term impact on the financial success of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of an organization.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help North Platte, Nebraska businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from labels to movie screens a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be enduring and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo style of a bike created for a North Platte, Nebraska coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an older section of the community and wished to project a vintage atmosphere without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by creating a custom logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs created for North Platte, Nebraska clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the clinical assessment of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog developed for a family fun center in North Platte, Nebraska.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for North Platte, Nebraska traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  North Platte logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

North Platte logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get honest judgements on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of hurdles, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for North Platte, Nebraska book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most important part of a published book considering that it is often the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the things people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

North Platte logo layout made use of for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in North Platte, Nebraska, style include an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs considering that it seems that virtually every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that conveyed a sense of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of making just a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is oftentimes the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the focus on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo style for a software program programmer the layout features as well as legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their North Platte logo design dsign using an image which pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really composed for an North Platte, Nebraska regional farm it was in reality devised for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to produce a graphic that projected esteem, success, and opulence.

North Platte Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for externally facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo design developed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is evocative a renowned sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the business owner to develop a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
