Rochester Logo Design

Each and every new Rochester company understands that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly are aware of the vital role their logo design can take in their success, or precisely why one logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and long-term effect on the prosperity of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Rochester businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require deliberation, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Rochester coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an old part of the area and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by designing a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs designed for Rochester medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory assessment of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family fun center in Rochester.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Rochester traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Rochester logo design but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Rochester logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get objective point of views on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo design recognize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo job possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Rochester publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a published book because it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. Regarding a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems like that in many instances one of the aspects consumers often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Rochester logo style made use of for marketing and also a label design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Rochester, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it seems that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that projected a sense of serenity and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo design for a software program developer the design functions as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Rochester logo dsign with an illustration which garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t really created for an Rochester regional farm it was really developed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Logo design made for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to create a business logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
