Englewood Logo Design

Virtually every new Englewood organization realizes that they need a logo, yet few new business owners entirely understand the vital role their organization logo can perform in their success, or precisely why one business logo works better than another. A business logo has an immediate and long-term effect on the success of a company, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Englewood companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Englewood coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an older part of the area and wanted to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both jobs via creating a sign concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria developed for Englewood medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun facility in Englewood.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Englewood traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Englewood logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Englewood logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral assessments on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design comprehend how important a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s portion of obstacles, but the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Englewood book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most essential part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the primary thing a person sees in the book shop. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many cases one of the items people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Englewood logo style utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Englewood, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that communicated a spirit of calmness and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious path of creating just a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo layout for a software designer the style functions as well as legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell off their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Englewood logo dsign along with a graphic that garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Englewood regional farm it was actually developed for a commodities broker, and this logo was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to produce a graphic that projected esteem, effectiveness, and opulence.
Logo design designed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is evocative a famous sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
