STRATEGIES ON DETERMINING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design company presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they can not refund the amount of time you commit which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but inevitably a design firm can only be determined from the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio does not feature actual samples chances are they will not be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s purpose is to mirror your personal vision for your organization. If a logo designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Fair Lawn LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners cultivate unforgettable brands. We have undertaken branding work for mechanics, educational institutions, heart surgeons, wedding singers, cafes, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes us unique compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as if it will be utilized as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first strategy our designs can, and have been used in everything from clothing labels to neon signs. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logos are equally successful whether they are used in television commercials or web applications, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and remembered no matter of size or use.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you may have encountered in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are hired to do, we do ourselves. Irrespective of the kind of project we undertake, logo design, business website, trade show display, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will contract out our customer’s projects to organizations based outside the United States. When you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the cost of your project and determines the terms of how we conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Fair Lawn business understands that they probably need a logo, but few start ups entirely grasp the essential role their company logo will perform in their success, or exactly why one business logo functions far better than another. A company logo has a critical and long-term effect on the viability of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Fair Lawn businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require deliberation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb and also a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the act of noting something so that it can be distinguished, its genesis comes from the mark burned onto livestock. These days a brand represents practically anything with an intention, regardless of whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of specifying the value of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are both from the very same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition aimed at a specific audience, it’s goal is to create an image that the audience will likely identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When a person states the brand names Ferrari or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why individuals acquire most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Agencies – If you look back at the origin of many branding firms you’ll discover that they are frequently rebranded marketing and advertising firms. When a person claims they are in advertising lots of people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that specializes in a kind of visual design which helps shape the image of a firm, a product or a business. Brand identity designers create logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, and collateral products such as cards, stationery, and brochures. Some visual designers also build websites and also user interfaces. The vital duty of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, end results and also understandings.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Fair Lawn coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an old part of town and hoped to visualize an old-fashioned feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both tasks via developing a company logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria created for Fair Lawn medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable facility in Fair Lawn.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Fair Lawn traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Fair Lawn logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Fair Lawn logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial assessments on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of hurdles, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Fair Lawn publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most crucial part of a published book because it is often the first thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems that in many cases 1 of the things people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a spirit of airline flight and it was definitely a winner.

Fair Lawn logo layout used for marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Situation features an old typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Fair Lawn, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs considering that it appears that each and every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design produced for a Fair Lawn hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design that conveyed an atmosphere of peace and class for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious path of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo design which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is generally the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian horse logo layout developed for a horse cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a unique company logo design styled to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With a distinctive head shape and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately identifiable equine types in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Fair Lawn restaurant logo layout a small restaurant, style includes a customized manuscript typeface which floats above a team of ornate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny dining establishment, style consists of a changed script font which floats above a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software application developer the style functions and renowned Fair Lawn component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Evolve logo layout created for a Fair Lawnindoor developer, style function a collection of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Fair Lawn interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who prepares, investigates, collaborates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that consists of conceptual development, area planning, location evaluations, programming, research, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Fair Lawn, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of words advanced have actually been customized to link straight into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Fair Lawn logo design project was carried out for a leadership guide that helps business professionals to develop into more effective at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Fair Lawn business logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell off their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Fair Lawn logo design design using an image that garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this Fair Lawn company logo design has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t really produced for an Fair Lawn area farm it was really created for a commodities broker, and this particular trademark was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to make a graphic that projected confidence, financial success, and luxury.

Fair Lawn Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout feature for ostensibly facing arrow and the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo developed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a famous Fair Lawn sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
