Mahwah Logo Design

Each and every new Mahwah organization realizes that they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners fully understand the pivotal role their organization logo will take in their success, or the reason that one logo functions far better than another. A logo design has a critical and long term influence on the success of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Mahwah companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Mahwah coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older section of the community and wished to cast a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by developing a company logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria made for Mahwah medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical assessment of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable facility in Mahwah.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Mahwah travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Mahwah logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Mahwah logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get objective viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo project has it’s portion of obstacles, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Mahwah book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a printed book considering that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it looks like that in many occurrences one of the items folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a spirit of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Mahwah logo design made use of for advertising and also a label style for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Mahwah, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it seems that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that conveyed a feeling of relaxation and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious direction of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is in most cases the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software developer the design attributes as well as renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Evolve logo design created for a Mahwah indoor developer, design attribute a series of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Mahwah logo design dsign using an illustration which captures the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t really created for an Mahwah regional farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this company logo was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to develop a graphic that projects self-assurance, success, and opulence.
Logo made for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is similar to a popular sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo design that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
