Marlboro Logo Design

Each and every new Marlboro business knows they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely realize the key role their logo can play in their financial success, or why one logo performs better than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the financial success of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Marlboro businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Marlboro coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an old section of the community and wanted to project an old-fashioned feel without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both tasks via developing a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria made for Marlboro medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun center in Marlboro.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Marlboro traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Marlboro logo but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Marlboro logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get neutral judgements on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Marlboro publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a printed book because it is usually the very first thing a person views in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it looks like that in many instances 1 of the items folks often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was surely a success.

Marlboro logo style made use of for marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Case features an archaic font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Marlboro, style include an arc with lines converging through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it appears that each and every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which communicated a sense of tranquility and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather created a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo layout for a software application designer the design attributes and also iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to market their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Marlboro logo design dsign along with a graphic which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t actually created for an Marlboro area farm it was really developed for an investments broker, and this particular brand was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to design a image that projected trust, financial success, and opulence.
Logo created for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo design which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
