Ocean Acres Logo Design

Each and every new Ocean Acres venture knows they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the key role their business logo can play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo works more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and long-term influence on the financial success of a business, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Ocean Acres companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand consideration, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Ocean Acres coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an old section of the community and wanted to cast an old-fashioned tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks via creating a company logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as germs made for Ocean Acres clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory assessment of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a family members enjoyable center in Ocean Acres.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Ocean Acres travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Ocean Acres logo design but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Ocean Acres logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral assessments on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of challenges, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Ocean Acres publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most vital part of a published book considering that it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences one of the items folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Ocean Acres logo style utilized for advertising and a label layout for Vintage Case features an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Ocean Acres, style include an arc with lines converging via it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it appears that every single dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that projected a feeling of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo design that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo style for a software developer the design functions and renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Ocean Acres logo dsign along with a graphic which seizes the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really created for an Ocean Acres regional farm it was actually created for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to create a graphic that projects self-confidence, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo developed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a popular sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
